Four Security Force Members Killed in Baghlan Clashes

At least four security forces members were killed and 10 others were wounded in northern Baghlan province on Saturday, security sources said on Sunday.

The clashes took place in the Cheshmaye Shir and Bagh-e-Shamal areas on the Baghlan – Samangan highway after the Taliban attacked the security forces, said sources.

“The highway was closed to traffic for several hours and four Afghan forces humvees were also damaged in the fighting,” sources added.

Local security officials did not provide details on the casualties of the security forces in the clashes.

Nabiullah Nabi, a military commander in Baghlan, said that the Taliban have also suffered of casualties in the clashes but there is no exact report yet.

The Taliban has not yet commented on the clashes.
