Stoltenberg said in a televised statement, that “Iraq is the first line of resistance in fighting terrorism and our presence in Iraq is to return the favor and help the Iraqi forces to defeat terrorism.”

He added, “The Iraqi forces made sacrifices in their war against terrorism, and that ISIS not only threatened Iraq, but also all NATO countries.”

“Our presence in Iraq is not for combat, and there are no military activities other than training and advice for the Iraqi armed forces in their war on terror,” said the NATO chief.
