163 Taliban militants killed and wounded in air strikes in northern Afghanistan

More than 160 Taliban insurgents have been killed or wounded in a series of air strikes by the Afghan army in three different northern provinces.

Afghan security forces carried out airstrikes in the provinces of Sary Paul, Gozjan and Faryab, the Shahin Corps 209 said in a statement.

The air strikes killed at least 113 Taliban militants, including several of their local commanders, and wounded at least 50 others, the statement said.

According to Shaheen Corps 209, the air strikes also destroyed 50 motorcycles, weapons and other military equipment was in the possession of the militants.

The Taliban is yet to comment on the air strikes.
