Right-wing leader: Islam must be removed from the scope of religious freedom guaranteed by the Constitution of the Netherlands

The leader of the extreme right-wing party in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, called for the removal of Islam from the scope of religious freedoms guaranteed by the country’s constitution, claiming that Islam is not a religion.

 

The leader of the extreme right-wing party in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, called for the removal of Islam from the scope of religious freedoms guaranteed by the country’s constitution, claiming that Islam is not a religion.

Wilders pointed out that he does not know how to do it legally and has pledged on more than one occasion to close mosques and ban the teaching of the Quran in the country, in addition to the revocation of residence permits granted to asylum seekers, upon his arrival to power.
