A video has been circulating on the social media networking sites showing a leader of Friday prayer in New York converting to Shia Islam after presenting facts about manipulated narrations by Sunni clerics in regards of certain figures.

Sheikh Tareq al-Masri said that many Sunni narrations are manipulated especially the ones regarding Omar and Abu Bakr in which they are presented as ideal figures despite the fact they were not actually following the Islamic teachings, along with accusing the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, with many accusations.

Al-Masri said that Omar and Abu Bakr took away the leadership of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, to the Islamic Ummah, which was assigned by the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, adding that this made many people deviate to other paths by not following the true Islam which is represented by following the path of Ahlul Bait, peace be upon them.
