Muslims in Iraq and the world celebrate Eid al-Ghadeer

A large number of pilgrims arrived at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, to commemorate Eid al-Ghadeer, amid preventive and precautionary measures taken by the Holy Shrine against the spread of Covid-19.

A large number of pilgrims arrived at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, to commemorate Eid al-Ghadeer, amid preventive and precautionary measures taken by the Holy Shrine against the spread of Covid-19.

Najafi press sources said that a large number of pilgrims arrived early morning to the Holy Shrine to renew the pledge of allegiance on Eid al-Ghadeer, and prayed to the Almighty to lift this pandemic from the world.  

The sources added that the Holy Shrine’s administration prepared for this grand occasion by spreading decorations in the corridors and courtyard of the Holy Shrine as well as the streets leading to it, in addition to hanging banners carrying hadiths of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and the importance on the Greatest Eid, Eid al-Ghadeer. 

It is noteworthy that on the eighth of Dhu al-Hijjah, millions of Muslims annually commemorate the inauguration of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, as the successor to the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, however due to the outbreak of Covid-19, this year was limited to a smaller number of pilgrims.
