World Health: Coronavirus has spread from person to person in 12 countries other than China

The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom, revealed during a press conference, that 92 cases of transmission of coronavirus were recorded in 12 countries other than China.

"At the moment, we do not have sufficient data on cases outside China to make a meaningful comparison regarding the severity of the disease or the death rate," Adhanom added. "We are following up with countries to obtain information about what is happening to each case."

He explained that there were no recorded cases of sustainable transmission of infection between humans, except in certain circumstances, such as the "Diamond Princess", adding, "I spoke with the Malaysian Minister of Health to discuss the status of the ship in Amsterdam as well."

He continued, "All signs indicate the importance of all countries' readiness to treat the disease with compassion and dignity, and to protect health workers and prevent transmission."
