Amnesty International condemns the sectarian restrictions against Shias in Bahrain’s prisons

Amnesty International once again condemned the practices, violations and sectarian restrictions that the Bahraini regime is pursuing in its prisons against detainees from the Shia community.

Amnesty International once again condemned the practices, violations and sectarian restrictions that the Bahraini regime is pursuing in its prisons against detainees from the Shia community.

The organization said on its Twitter account that, during the month of Muharram, prison administrations in Bahrain confiscated religious books and other prayer supplies belonging to Shia prisoners, pointing out that these measures are another form of sectarian harassment by the regime, which has no grounds.

The organization also condemned the lies of the so-called National Institution for Human Rights, which claimed in its latest statement that the freedom to practice religious rites for prisoners in Bahrain is fully guaranteed, and in a manner that does not harm or infringe the freedom and privacy of other prisoners of all religions and sects.
