Afghanistan: 40 dead and wounded in a bombing in Lugar state

Afghan media reported that 40 people were killed and wounded in a blast that targeted the city of Poly Allam, the center of Logar State, Afghanistan.

The local Talaa News channel quoted unnamed sources as saying that the bombing in Azadi Square resulted in the death and wounding of at least 40 people.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

The blast comes two days after Taliban terrorists announced a 3-day ceasefire during Eid al-Adha, ahead of upcoming negotiations between the Kabul government and the movement in the coming weeks.
