Ahmad Qurnaz is continuing work in the restoration of a 455-year-old Quran at the National Palace Administration.

The Quran, made of natural gold-plated leather, was presented as a gift to the Ottoman palaces on July 1, 1816, by the maid of Delsaza, one of the wives of Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II.

According to historical sources available to the Turkish Archive, the historic manuscript was completed on February 10, 1564, by the calligrapher Ali, known as Abi El Hassan Asili.

Qurnaz said that he works on the restoration of the historic Quran about 5-6 hours a day, expressing his sense of happiness for the restoration of ancient works.
