40 Quranic projects implemented by Karbala-based center in 10 Years

The Dar-ol-Quran Center affiliated to Imam Hussein’s, peace be upon him, holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq, has implemented 40 Quranic projects over the past ten years, an official said.

Safa Silawi, in charge of the center’s media affairs, told the media that the center started its activities ten years ago.

Since then, he said, it has implemented 40 Quranic projects, one of the main outcomes of which is training some 1,000 memorizers of the Quran from all age groups.

With the grace of God, the objective of having 1,000 memorizers of the entire Quran will be achieved by the end of the year 2018, he stated.

One of the programs the center annually organizes is the Karbala Quran Award, which is held at the national level in three categories, namely memorization, recitation and Tafseer (interpretation) of the Quran, he noted.

As of next year, the competition is planned to be held internationally and with the participation of representatives from different countries, according to the official.

He further said the center has 10 branches in different provinces in Iraq’s central and southern provinces.
