35 terrorists killed in security force operations

At least 13 terrorists were killed in security forces operations in the past 24 hours in 13 provinces, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement on Thursday.

In addition, eight other terrorists were wounded.

The operations were carried out in Nangarhar, Kunar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Logar, Paktika, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Faryab, Farah, Kunduz and Helmand provinces to clear the areas of insurgents, according to the statement.

The MoD said that ten terrorists were killed in a Farah operation and three others were wounded while eight terrorists were killed in Omana district of Paktika.

Six terrorists were killed in Kapisa and two others were wounded. Six other insurgents were killed in Nad Ali district of Helmand province, three were killed in Uruzgan and one other was wounded.

Two Daesh terrorists were killed and two others were wounded in Chapadara district of Nangarhar province. 

According to the MoD, the forces were supported by the air force and a few safe havens were destroyed. The MoD also said that weapons had been seized during the operations.

However, the statement did not provide further details.
