The International Organization of Shia Rights Watch (SRW) has expressed its deep resentment at violations committed against the Algerian pilgrims when they returned home following their participation in the Pilgrimage of Arbaeen.

The organization said in a statement, received by the Shiawaves, that a convoy of Algerian pilgrims was subjected to detention at the airport of Algiers upon their return from the decrees of the Pilgrimage of Arbaeen in Iraq, pointing out that these violations are the result of sectarian hatred against the Shia citizens in Algeria.

The organization noted that the Algerian Shi’a citizens have not committed any legal breach, infringement or violation against others when they exercised their legal and religious rights as stipulated in the Algerian constitution and international human rights law.
