Quran Teaching Centre to be established by Kufa University

A Quranic official at the University of Kufa, in Holy Najaf, said that the university plans to set up a Quran teaching centre.

Hadi Hanoun al-Arezi, head of the university’s Supreme Council for Quranic Activities, said the centre will be launched in a few days.

He made the remark in a meeting with the director of the Dar-ol-Quran center affiliated to the Imam Ali holy shrine.

During the meeting, the two discussed ways for cooperation in different fields of Quranic activities.

Iraq has turned into a leading country in terms of Quranic activities, especially since the fall of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

The holy cities of Najaf and Karbala have been the main centres of Quranic programs such as Quranic courses, competitions, book fairs and Quran exhibitions.
