Hundreds of thousands at Imam Ali Holy Shrine for the First Night of Decree

Hundreds of thousands of Ahlulbayt lovers crowded the holy shrine of Imam Ali in the holy city of Najaf last night on the eve of the 19th day of Ramadan. 

 

 

Hundreds of thousands of Ahlulbayt lovers crowded the holy shrine of Imam Ali in the holy city of Najaf last night on the eve of the 19th day of Ramadan. 

This holy day marks the first night of the Nights of Decree. 

It also marks the eve when the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, was struck with a sword by Abd al-Rahman ibn Muljam al-Muradi and martyred from its injury two days later.

The pilgrims also performed the special rituals for this holy night, which is mentioned in the Holy Quran to be better than one thousand months.
