Antiquities found near Imam Hussein Shrine

Approximately 36 antiquities have been found in the excavations of the Zainebian Sanctuary project near the Imam Hussein Shrine.

 

Approximately 36 antiquities have been found in the excavations of the Zainebian Sanctuary project near the Imam Hussein Shrine.

The curator of Imam Hussein museum, Ela’ Dheya-EdDeen, said, “The antiquities include earthen jars, cooking utensils, and pots – they were found in a seven-meter old well, which had been used by inhabitants of the area around the Imam Hussein Shrine.”

He added that the museum gave the antiquities to the Iraqi museum for evaluation and registration.
