The Delegation of the European Union of the WALADU program visits the al-Kafeel Museum

The Delegation of the European Union from the WALADU program, which is a program for specialists in archaeology and ancient history , has expressed its appreciation to see the museum artifacts  of the al-Kafeel Museum for Treasures and Manuscripts, which shows the efforts exerted by craftsmen in dealing with these artifacts , by working on sustaining them continuously to preserve them.

 

The Delegation of the European Union from the WALADU program, which is a program for specialists in archaeology and ancient history , has expressed its appreciation to see the museum artifacts  of the al-Kafeel Museum for Treasures and Manuscripts, which shows the efforts exerted by craftsmen in dealing with these artifacts , by working on sustaining them continuously to preserve them.

The delegation led by Professor Cigdem Maner from the University of Bologna in Italy and the University of Kutch in Istanbul, Turkey, was accompanied by the head of the department, Mr. Sadiq Lazem who took them also to visit the museum store, and gave them a brief explanation of the mechanism of work and the storage methods used. The visit included also the exhibition hall of the museum, with a brief explanation about each of the artifacts  and its history.

At the end of the tour, Cigdem Maner expressed her pleasure at seeing this great museum. “It is considered an elegant museum,” she said. “We congratulate you on this international museum and it is a great moment to see these precious exhibits.”

The delegation then met with Sayed. Ahmad al-Safi, the Senior Official of the holy shrine, to present a number of proposals after the students’ visit to the al-Kafeel Museum.
